Susan was a former policy advisor with the NSPCC and has recently moved into independent child protection consultancy. With a background in health, local government and the voluntary sector, she is well placed to provide training and other services to a wide range of agencies and professionals. Susan regularly acts as an independent chair for serious case review (SCR) panels, and has been a member of the Department for Children, Schools and Families research steering groups into the biennial reviews of SCRs, and the evaluation of LSCBs.

She completed Warwick University’s advanced course in the Management of Unexpected Child Deaths in 2008, and is currently independent chair of a LSCB. In her spare time Susan is an associate lecturer with the Open University.
