The Local Authority Targets (Well-Being of Young Children) Regulations 2007 (Statutory Instrument 2007/1415), as amended.

Introduction

Section 1 of the Childcare Act 2006 places a duty on English local authorities to improve the well-being of, and reduce inequalities between, young children in the authority’s area. The Secretary of State can impose targets in relation to that duty. These Regulations set out the process to be followed by the Secretary of State in setting targets.

These Regulations are made under section 1 of the Childcare Act 2006.
