Section 14B - Special guardianship orders

The Explanatory Notes to the 2002 Act state:
“Section 14B provides that before making a special guardianship order the court must consider whether or not to vary or discharge any other existing order made under section 8 of the Children Act 1989 (such as a contact order or residence order) and also whether a contact order (for example, to enable continued contact with the child's birth parents) should be made at the same time as the special guardianship order.
