This audit was devised by the Social Care Institute for Excellence's People Management division.
Providing users with a say in how services are delivered is one of the key principles in making them effective. There are a number of ways in which people who use services and carers can participate in people management and this audit aims to help you improve your practice in this area.
The audit covers the participation of both people who use services and carers, although there are different ways of involving both these groups and the emphasis is on the involvement of people who use services themselves. Some questions will relate to both people who use services and carers or advocates, and some will refer to each group separately.
