The Child Poverty Act 2010
OVERVIEW OF THE ACT
This Act places the governmental objective of reducing child poverty on a statutory footing. Ambitiously, it enacts a range of targets which the Secretary of state is required to meet by the financial year 2020/21. At a local level, the Act also establishes local child poverty partnerships and requires local child poverty strategies to be put in place.
