Community Care Inform is in the middle of a whole site re-design, which has been put together in order to improve your site experience.
This site guide offers a brief explanation of the changes, and how you can make best use of them.
NAVIGATION
You can search for articles on the site in two ways – either Topic or by Content Type
Topic
Hovering over the topics in the list will open up a second level of navigation, from which you can further drill down in your chosen subject.
Click on one of the second tier navigation links, and you go through to the topic landing page. (in this case “Supporting asylum seeking families).
The landing page lists the seven content types in tabbed format. Each tab displays the content type name and the number of documents contained within each section.
In this case there are:
Reference Manuals: 1
Case Law: 17
Legislation: 2
Guide To..: 21
Research: 23
Practice: 2
Key Documents: 25
Select the tab you want to view. This will display results in groups of 10 / 20 / 30 / 50 or All – dependant on your choice (This can be changed in the My Preferences section).
At the top of the results listing is a “Search within” box. This will allow you to drill your search down even further.
Alternatively, you can view the information on the site, by using the relevant Content Type channel pages
CONTENT TYPE
There are nine content types, Reference Manual, Case Law, Legislation, Guide To, Research, Practice, Key Document, Glossary and Welfare Rights – and all bar Welfare Rights and Glossary have their own channel pages, and search functions.
Clicking on Reference Manual will bring up the Reference Manual channel page
This page contains an explanation of what the Reference Manual section provides; links to the latest published articles, plus the option to search within the Reference Manual section
Enter your search term into the search box, and hit go.
Your search results show all the articles we have on the subject (in this case Asylum), and how many there are under each of the content types. Because your search is from the Reference Manual channel page, the Reference Manual tab is highlighted (if you had searched from one of the other tabs, then that tab would have been highlighted)
MY INFORM
We have moved the "My Inform" section. You can still change your preferences; save articles to "My documents"; amend your email alerts and log PRTL hours. These links now appear underneath your login details on the top right-hand corner of the screen.
